We'll continue to spotlight top response articles on the homepage every week. We also have a free lunch period on Tuesdays and use our time to explore some of Mendoza’s best restaurants. I am hoping to come back to the States knowing how to cook empanadas and bake chocotortas with dulce-de-leche, a cake that I would die for, and I don’t even like chocolate cakes. Known for its Malbec, Argentina has also allowed me to fall in love with its wineries and now I have a new appreciation for red wines. At this birthday lunch, which practically comprised of enough food to compensate for my dinner as well, I met a girl who lived in Spain but moved to Mendoza with her family for her father’s job.

Only in Argentina do boys shave their heads for the 18th birthday, the age that marks their newfound abilities to drive, vote, and drink alcohol. If you think about it, your roommate was there through all of your first college experiences. The first day of orientation, wishing you luck on the first days of classes, the first night out, etc. You will always look back and think, "I remember my first day of college with ____." The word home has different meanings, and different things can mean home to me, just as it can for you.
We work with you to get you through these feelings of anxiety or post-traumatic stress disorder. The morning after my father suddenly passed away, my mother found his iPod. There were three songs on there that we had never heard before.
The "remember that one time, freshman year..." stories never end.
We will assist you down the unfamiliar roads and the first few times, you may need to hold on to us as we go, however you will ultimately be strong enough to go on your own. "Home" debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 10, the first time in four years a coronation single from an American Idol winner has reached the top 10. David Cook's single "The Time of My Life" debuted at No. 3 in the week ending May 25, 2008. "Home" sold 278,000 the first week, the biggest digital sales week ever for a winner's coronation song, surpassing David Cook's "Time of My Life," which had first week sales of 236,000 in 2008.
After seeing each other during the lows, seeing each other during the highs was such a great feeling. Getting involved on campus, making new friends, and succeeding in classes are only a few of the many ways you have watched each other grow. Even a person who has grown up in the same house their entire life, can feel like their house is just a house - a building devoid of home. It made me think of my high school self, moving from one place to the next.

According to Drew Pearson, it was originally intended for Greg Holden, but was submitted to Idol as a possible finale number by Pearson's publishing company, Pulse Recordings. Pearson and Holden had previously not met before but were brought together to write the song, with Holden the primary lyricist. The song was written in three hours in Pearson's studio in Burbank, California in November 2011. Originally it had only two verses, but an arrangement change was made about a month after it was written, and the second verse was repeated. Pearson cited Mumford & Sons, Arcade Fire, and a few Irish bands as influences for the song.
I recall many road trips, with my headphones in, considering the concept, wondering if I'd ever find home, or if I just had many. I wanted to be able to define home, but it wasn't an obvious house or location. "This is big," my friend said as a group of us piled into her car. "Take me home." Her phone responded with directions back to campus. My friend grew up on the other side of the world in China, so our Midwestern college now qualifying as home was certainly smile-worthy.
For you, it might bring hope, happiness, or mixed feelings, but if you feel like you have lost your home, please don’t lose hope. The music video was directed by Joseph Toman and was shot over three days (July 14–16) while on the road with the American Idol tour, traveling from Denver to Salt Lake City. The video premiered on Phillip Phillips' Vevo site on August 2, 2012. Much of the video interweaves black-and-white imagery of American landscapes with footage of Phillips jamming on the tour bus. The song "Home" was well-received when it was first performed on American Idol. Phillips received a standing ovation—the only one of the night—from the judges.
My ever-growing list of songs went from pen/paper, to my iPod (remember clickwheel On The Go playlists?), to 8tracks (the website, I'm not THAT old), to where it now dwells on Spotify. Michelob commercials generated hits for Eric Clapton, Genesis and Steve Winwood in the '80s, even as some of these rockers were fighting alcoholism. From "Some Day My Prince Will Come" to "Let It Go" - how Disney princess songs have evolved.
As of December 2015, the song has sold 5,400,000 copies in the US. After the release of the song, Phillips said that while the song and its writers are "really good", "it's not really something I would write". He also revealed that he had wanted to use a song he co-wrote with his brother-in-law, "Drive Me," as the coronation song. In the beginning of the song, he sings, “Hold on to me as we go, as we roll down this unfamiliar road.” In the beginning of our community based OT journey, you may hear us say the same. We want to help you get back to the things you want to do, but have been unable to. Sometimes that may mean literally holding on to our arm for the first time walking into a store since your injury.
You feel overwhelmed, discouraged, and defeated and feel as if you are unable to start this project. As community based OTs, we are able to come into your environment, and act as the picture on the top of the puzzle box. We are able to show and remind you of the full picture and all the joys you have to look forward to.
The song was also included on his debut album, The World from the Side of the Moon, released later in November that year. The song was later used in the NBC women's gymnastics coverage of the 2012 Summer Olympics, and the song re-entered the Hot 100 at 84 on August 1 on the strength of a one-night boost in sales after its first airing. The song then sold over 105,000 copies in a three-day span the next week, and totalled 228,000 for the week. It also re-entered the Top 10 and reached a new high of No. 9 in the Hot 100 chart the same week, the first song to reach the Hot 100's Top 10 in separate chart runs in a single calendar year. The song hit No. 1 on 11 separate Billboard charts, including Rock Digital Songs, Hot Digital Songs, Hot Digital Tracks, adult alternative Triple A, Triple A Audience, Adult Top 40, and Adult Contemporary.
The song reached a new peak at No. 8 in the Hot 100 chart in the week his album The World from the Side of the Moon debuted in the Billboard 200 chart in November. It climbed to No. 7 a week later, dropped to No. 8 and No. 9 in subsequent weeks in December and January, then resumed its ascent to a new peak at No. 6 in mid-January 2013. Together with increasing radioplay, it again started posting sales of more than 100,000 units per week from mid-November until late February 2013. This song reached its 5 million sales mark in the US in March 2014.
"Home" lyrics
Although some people are better at adjusting than others, at the times when you were not, your roommate was there to listen. “Home” served as Phillip Phillips' coronation song on American Idol. It debuted at #10 on the Billboard Hot 100, and reached the #1 spot on the Adult Top 40, Adult Contemporary, and the Adult Alternative Songs charts. The song was featured in the women’s gymnastics segment of the 2012 United States Olympic Trials, as well as during NBC’s coverage of the 2012 Olympic Games. In an era where the pop music charts are dominated by thumping 808 drums, European Dub Step-esque Synths and topics more fit for late night TV – an unexpected little folk song latched onto the American consciousness to become one of the biggest songs of 2012. For me, this song sang right to my heart and brought instant tears to my eyes.
